After witnessing the 4th Oodua Progressive Union ,OPU , global Conference powered by Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba ,Iba Gani Ige Abiodun Adams at the historic Centenary Hall ,1930 ,Ake , Ogun State yesterday , on our way to Ibadan, Oyo State , the Alarinka crew's eyes caught the signpost of MITROS Rice ,after the Asero Motor Park and we decided to take a risk of having a first hand encounter with the so called Ogun State MITROS rice revolution which has generated so much controversy . It was taking a risk because it was already 5 pm ,far outside the working hours ,but we were emboldened by the fact that ,the gate was ajar and we noticed a moderate level of human activity.
We drove inside the large compound without any interrogation from the gatemen and parked the car at the front of a building which harbours a large number of bags of rice and which is pasted 'sales point' .
No one was in sight . But we saw a man reading a copy of the Nigerian Tribune inside a black SUV which has an Ogun State government official plate number.
The man was admiring an advt placed by Ogun Agric Team for the state Governor whose 60th birthday was yesterday.
We engaged the man " they have closed . They commence sales from 8 am to 3 : 30 pm "
We lamented our wish to buy bags of rice adding that we came all the way from Ibadan . Remi Oladoye said he particularly needed the ofada brand for a naming ceremony today.
As we were discussing ,a fair completion ,lady came out of an office .
The man reading the advt beckoned to her ' come and see Oga' s name in the advt made by the Ogun State Agric Team '
As the man used his finger to trace the name , my eyes followed , Engineer Adeniyi.
The lady now asked the man who was still obsessed with advt
' where is Oga' ?
He is still in the office working
I pretended I saw nothing and heard nothing.
As the lady step aside , I guessed she was going to the direction where oga is as pointed to by the Amosun congrats advt obsessed man , I engaged her
' my beautiful sister , ( she is ) please ,we are here to see Engineer Adeniyi ,all the way from Ibadan . '
She cast a look on us ,a man in agbada with a crown like cap ( not Carton crown ) from Ibadan on Thursday, another beautiful lady who dressed like a Queen , Erelu ASA of Yoruba, Duchess Funmi Rotiba , in full regalia ,two others young men ,Remi Oladoye and OmoBaba .
I am not sure he is in the office. He must have closed. But let me check around.
As she was reluctantly leaving our presence , I called her " my sister , if not because you will refuse to be my 5th wife , ( I am not ashamed to be a believer in polygamy) ..."
She was indifferent to the joke and left .
Few minutes after ,the lady appeared with a man who stressed his hand ' I am Engineer Adeniji , I cannot recall meeting this face .'
I told him we are social tourists to Abeokuta and we have read Elijah Ayo Arowojolu and Wale Adedayo 's and others comments on the fb on MITROS Rice including the controversy of the pyramid and rebagging or no rebagging.
He smiled.
He intelligently informed us the full meaning of MITROS- Mission to Rebuild Ogun State .
' This is one of the missions . Making food particularly the stable ones available and affordable . And we are happy Gov Ibikunle Amosun is focused on this '
The rice is made in Ogun State
A bag of parboiled goes for 11.5k while ofada goes for 25k .

' we are daily fine-tuning the production processes . It is a pity we have closed . But if you can be here tomorrow promptly you will have access to our full production line . As you can see , it is real and real . Our doors are opened. However , it is a pity that you will not be able to purchase any because we ha close. I am sorry'
It was a very rewarding informative interaction which revealed the state of the mind of the Engineer as not only being resourceful and intelligent but a well read fellow who made quotes out of ' and Indians never went naked' a book written by Ghandi after he banned the importation of textile to India .
A time when the Indians believe banning importation of textile to India will force the Indians to go naked
He announced then ' let Indians go naked if they cannot produce their own textile' . But after 2 years , not that Indians never went naked' but they commenced exportation of Textile to the world .
It also reflected that he studied Lee kwan Yu of Singapore
The General Manager of MITROS Ogun State , Engineer Adeniyi is a very duitiful fellow, responsible and diligent at work. He sequentially informed us
No wonder ,Ogun State has been able to break through in its efforts at ensuring the miracle of making rice available for its indigenes .
And whoever thinks remotely or otherwise,,says or remarks that MITROS rice is a fraud is himself the Fraud
MITROS rice Revolution is real and super but I am not happy with the GM for not using his discretion to sell for us after the close of the business.
However, I am proud of the government of Ogun State , Senator Ibikunle Amosun for this stride of not allowing Ogun State people going hungry and for selecting competent, fit and prudent fellows like Engineer Adeniji as members of his Agric Team .

And Nigeria is gonna be great again .
