Man arrested for chaining son inside room for 2 months

Lagos police have arrested a man identified as Akanbi Lawal for interrogation for allegedly keeping his son, Yusuf Lawal in captivity and also for chaining him inside a room for two months in Lagos state, southwest Nigeria.
The incident happened at 4 lfekoya street, Papa Ashafa, Agege in Lagos where they reside.
According to police, one of their neighbours Tayo Olukoju of 53 Adebanbo street, Papa Ashafa, Agege came to the station and reported that his friend, Yusuf Lawal, 35 was found inside his room with chains to his two hands.
The police said he stated further that the chain was beginning to cause his wrist to decay because he has been chained for almost two months.
What transpired between the father and son which subsequently led to Yusuf’s chaining could not be ascertained as at the time of reporting.
Following the report, the police operatives from Dopemu division moved in and rescued the victim and brought him to the station.
The police also removed the chain from his hands and rushed him to Oke Odo general hospital where he is now receiving treatment.
His father was arrested and put in police custody for interrogation and further investigation.
PM News then contacted the police public Relation officer, SP Dolapo Badmos who confirmed the incident.
She said the police have commenced investigation and are unravelling what led to Yusuf’s assault.
