What manner of a Commissioner is Toye Arulogun ? Part 1 by Wale Ojo lanre

What manner of a Commissioner is Toye Arulogun ? Part 1
Is he truly a Commissioner , Culture and Tourism in Oyo State ?
Does he comprehend his role as a man who should inform on behalf of a State ?
Does he know what is unduly sensational and critical ?
And somebody told me he is a journalist !
I want Nigerians to read his response to what I raised on Irefin Palace .
This will give us an insight to the personality and competence of the man who is supposed to be the Chief Impression manager for the government of Oyo State . .
.......................................................................................
This is my observation on Irefin
Gov Ajimobi ! Over 200 years old Irefin Palace is crying by Wale Ojo lanre
Gov Ajimobi ! Over 200 years old Irefin Palace is crying
This palace you are seeing is
Irefin Palace : Over 200 years old
with only 180 rooms in Ibadan
Nigeria has a lot to offer and generates revenue from
But we have refused to enhance some of these rare creative monuments left behind by our fore fathers
These are the testimonies that we do not only have a proud past but a memorable story .
See this unique cultural historical tourism monument wasting and crying for attention and Oyo state government is looking somewhere else !

Toye Arulogun;s response
Toye Arulogun Snr wrote:
I have just read your piece on the preservation of historical monuments directed at Governor Abiola Ajimobi and the Oyo State Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism.
To my mind, it is inappropriate to get unduly sensational and critical of a particular government with such pieces when the focus is on decades of decadence and neglect.
Kindly endeavour to ask questions at the relevant quarters and surely, you will get answers. A media practitioner must not be mono medium driven. A robust familiarity with the goings on in other media is critical in media practice.
Assumptions are largely based on lack of information and I believe that in the last few weeks, I have been leading the conversation on Cultural Tourism in the state. Broadcast stations, the Print Media and Online Publications can attest to this. Splash Fm, Space FM, Impact Business Radio, Naija FM, BCOS TV, are stations that I have spoken on some of these issues extensively. Just in case you missed out on some of our communication and engagement, I will oblige you a torch at them.
To directly answer your question, the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism is embarking on a major effort not only to preserve some the historical sites, artifacts and monuments in the state, but to awaken a Cultural Tourism Renaissance in the state in the same way there has been a night life renaissance in Ibadan since 2012/2013.
Specifically to the issues you raised, On Wednesday 31st August 2016, , a meeting held with the National Commission on Monuments to deliberate on some of such and related issues. We are also in the process of acquiring the Lalupon site where two Nigerian heros were slain during the first coup d'etat in Nigeria. Tribune has reported this several times.
Please note that the site is 50 years old. You can juxtapose that to the age of the Ajimobi Government and my opening remarks might just be in order.
The Ministry's Facebook page is also up for more and regular updates/information. A simple search will lead you to some of these information.
In addition, we will soon commence the broadcast of a Cultural and historical Yoruba programme titled Aroba which intends to provide historical perspectives and showcase some of the sociocultural landmarks, monuments, tourism sites and personalities in Oyo State. To be sure I am factual, kindly confirm from Mr Lawrence Olisa ( formerly of Splash, MItv/Splash FM & Inspiration FM) who is the principal in the company we are partnering with on this.
Upon resumption in the last two months, I have visited a lot of these sites including those you have not mentioned. Our strategic approach for revamping the Cutural Tourism sector in Oyo State is to IDENTIFY, PACKAGE, PROMOTE & PARTNER. We are at the packaging stage right now.
These are a few of what the Ministry is doing in the direction at which you are pointing. It will be my pleasure to share a lot more in detail with you if you are so inclined.
It is my expectation that you will post this on your wall as you did your piece given the fact that I cannot do so by myself.
Thank you for your interest in the Cultural Tourism sector in Oyo State.
Toye ARULOGUN
HC, MICT.

Ajanlekoko James Mr Deji Bobade , you are too partial . You are not a good judge . You shoyld have pointed out that the so called commissioner is wrong in his approach to issues . Is that how he should have responded ? Can't you think ? Can't you for once tell the fool of a Commissioner that he is nothing but a fool and a misnomer .

Adewale Adenrele D-costy @ Ajanlekoko James....pls dont be too harsh on Mr Deji Bobade nor insult him , he might not be a tourism minded fellow, practitioner, stakeholder or someone who really understand hw the sector works.

Ajanlekoko James The response from the Commissioner ridicules him and the office . it tells a lot about lack of understanding of the rudiment of how to write a convincing and persuading rejoinder particular from someone like him to another person who seems to be a stakeholder in the sector . it is one of the failure of today's governors who just appoint whoever to a post without thinking of the finesse , decorum and candour which such post requires . it is a shame that Arulogun or what is being called is a Commissioner for information in Oyo state going by the load of irrelevances he packaged in his response to something which only call their attention . He is an aggressive fellow going by the tone and arrogance he betrayed through his response . I have clinically analysed his response and i pity the Governor who appointed someone who should be a chief thug as information officer . Shame on Toye arulogun . .
