Boko Haram members now manufacture fuel !

Boko Haram members now manufacture fuel
Islamist sect used to pay a lot of money to get fuel from the black market – Terrorists now use groundnut oil to make fuel after their supplies had been cut off  by Nigerian troops – They get the by-products from farmers around Sambisa forest Boko Haram terrorists have reportedly started improvising on how to get fuel after the Nigerian troops squeezed their supply lines. According to Vanguard reports, the terrorists are now producing their fuel to power motorbikes to replace the huge amounts they were paying for jerrycans of fuel, but a woman who recently escaped from the group’s camp, informed categorically that they were making groundnut oil into biodiesel. The military source in a chat with AFP from Maiduguri, the Borno state capital, said: “Boko Haram were paying outrageous sums to get fuel and the incredible profit margin made young men defy the risk and take fuel to them. “The cutting off of fuel supplies has badly crippled Boko Haram and that has been made possible by blocking all identified supply routes and the crackdown on the suppliers.” Escapee Ya-Mairam Ya-Malaye explained that a jerrycan of fuel in Maiduguri costs only $13, however, the risk of being caught up in a military aerial bombardment on Boko Haram positions has made the vendors steer clear of the terrorists’ camp. According to Babakura Kolo, a civilian vigilante assisting the military against the group, “It was a lucrative business for the fuel vendors. “But we have taken care of them and Boko Haram are feeling the crunch because they are out of supplies.”
Ya-Malaye, the 57-year-old mother-of-eight who was captured with hundreds of women and children in Bama about two years ago, successfully escaped last week and said: “They confiscate the groundnuts (that) farmers in villages in and around Sambisa cultivated all-year-round from their farms and irrigation fields. “They crush the nuts using diesel-powered grinding machines to extract the oil to which they add salt to make it light and combustible. “Boko Haram had been getting fuel from young men who would bring the petrol to designated points near Sambisa (forest) for the fighters to pick.” This report is coming barely 48 hours after the Nigerian troops made a shocking discovery of an underground storage facilities where the Islamist sect members reportedly hid their food. This discovery was made when the Nigerian soldiers raided the hideouts of the die-hard Islamic State loyalists.
